My lamp
Zoe Deacon As I walked through the pitch black night, the lamp hopped and skipped with it's light, the warmness of the summer night lay, on the fields as as the lamp lit my way. |
MeaningI didn't really have any inspiration for this but I think it means just basically someone walking through a warm summer night with beautiful scenery and a lamp that is guiding them.
Types and TechniquesThe techniques I used in this poem are personification and that is shown in line 2 as it is giving the lamp a human like action. There is also and end rhyme in all lines. There are couplets of 2 and the rhyme pattern is A, A, B, B which means the first line rhymes with the second and the third line rhymes with the fourth.
Why I wrote this PoemI wrote this poem in order to use personification. I think that this poem is short but I like it because it flows and it has a sense of peace. I like how I wrote the end rhyme because it stays with the topic.
